LONDON (Alliance News) - Barclays PLC said Monday that it has settled two civil lawsuits in the US with the National Credit Union Administration for USD325 million.
The bank said the lawsuits are part of Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities claims it previously disclosed in its first half results. It is continuing to litigate other RMBS claims and RMBS repurchase requests, and to respond to requests from various regulatory and governmental authorities in relation to mortgage-related investigations, it said.
Barclays said it will include a provision of USD325 million in its third quarter interim management statement, set for October 29.
Shares in Barclays were up 1.1% at 253.45 pence Monday afternoon.
