LONDON (Alliance News) - Bankers Petroleum Ltd on Monday said the International Chamber of Commerce has granted an injunction to revoke the suspension placed on its bank accounts in Albania by local tax authorities.
Last week, Bankers was notified the Albanian tax department had suspended its bank accounts in an attempt to collect USD75.0 million, increased from USD57.0 million due to interest and penalties being added to its previous tax assessment.
Bankers said it expects the suspension will be lifted immediately.
Bankers is undergoing a third-party international audit process after securing an agreement with the Albanian National Agency for Natural Resources to hire the auditor to resolve the tax dispute.
Shares in Bankers were untraded at 95.00 pence on Monday.
