(Alliance News) - Bank of Ireland Group PLC said Wednesday it has appointed Michele Greene to its board, effective from December 5.
Greene has over 25 years' experience of financial services and retail banking, having previously served as managing director of Virgin Money's digital bank until July last year. Prior to that she was director of strategic development at the lender.
She joined Virgin Money initially as director of banking, with responsibility for building the bank's new credit card business. Before joining Virgin Money, Michele was chief financial officer of MBNA Europe. Greene's earlier career was spent at Goldman Sachs Group Inc, Credit Lyonnais SA and KPMG LLC.
Midcap lender CYBG PLC acquired Virgin Money in October 2018 for GBP1.70 billion. CYBG has now transferred the business of Virgin Money into the group and intends to change its own name to Virgin Money UK PLC at the end of October.
Shares in Bank of Ireland were 2.1% lower in London on Wednesday at EUR4.18 each.
