LONDON (Alliance News) - Bank of Ireland Group PLC said Monday that Stephen Pateman has been appointed as non-executive director with immediate effect.
Pateman is being appointed to the bank's audit committee, risk committee and remuneration committee.
He was previously chief executive officer of Shawbrook Bank Ltd from 2015 to the end of 2018. He joined Shawbrook from Santander UK, where he was executive director and head of UK banking.
At Santander he was responsible for the bank's corporate, commercial, business and retail banking operations as well as wealth management.
Prior to Santander he held senior positions at the Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest.
Chairman Patrick Kennedy said: "I am delighted to welcome Steve to the board of Bank of Ireland. He brings to the board the strategic insights of a chief executive officer of a UK bank and a strong lending and credit background with deep commercial experience including the operational challenges facing lending institutions. I look forward to working with him as the group progresses to achieve its ambitions."
Share in Bank of Ireland closed up 2.1% at EUR7.34 each.
