Balfour Beatty Wins GBP245 Million Highways Maintenance Contract

3rd Feb 2016 07:31

LONDON (Alliance News) - Balfour Beatty PLC on Wednesday said it has won a GBP245.0 million highways maintenance contract from Coventry City Council, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council.

The FTSE 250-listed construction and infrastructure group said its Balfour Beatty Living Places unit will work with the three councils under the seven-year deal, under which it will be the single source provider for all three local authorities. The contract is extendible by three years.

"We build long-term relationships with local authorities that add real value to communities. With a clear focus on the outcomes that matter to communities, we are helping local authorities to deliver better value for money," said Leo Quinn, Balfour's chief executive.

Balfour also said it last week secured a GBP55.0 million, two-year extension to its contract running highways works in West Sussex.
