LONDON (Alliance News) - Balfour Beatty PLC Monday said it has won two UK coastal defence contracts worth GBP73 million in total.
"The GBP20 million Anchorsholme Scheme for Blackpool Council and the GBP53 million Rossall Scheme for Wyre Council will replace over 2.9 kilometres of the original 1930's seawalls as part of the promenade renewal and beach management projects," the company said in a statement.
Work on both contracts, which are being funded mainly by the UK government's Environment Agency, will start this winter and will be completed by the summer of 2017.
Balfour Beatty shares were down 0.2% at 284.70 pence Monday morning.
