LONDON (Alliance News) - Infrastructure group Balfour Beatty PLC Wednesday said its joint venture has been recommended for the GBP213 million North Metro Rail Line design-build project by the Regional Transportation District (RTD) of Denver, Colorado.
Graham Balfour Beatty Hammon (GBBH) Contractors will be tasked with providing design and construction services across the 13.5 mile transit project.
When complete, the project will extend the commuter rail line from Denver Union Station to the 124th Avenue Station, with options for additional extensions in the future.
The next step in the process is RTD's board of director approval for the recommendation, anticipated on November 26 2013.
Design and construction of the rail line is then scheduled to begin in early 2014 with a four-year project duration.
Balfour shares were trading at 263.10 pence Wednesday morning, down 11.40 pence or 4.2%, the second biggest faller on the FTSE 250.
