Balfour Beatty Hires Former BP Canada Chief As Non-Exec Director

21st Sep 2018 13:04

LONDON (Alliance News) - Balfour Beatty PLC said Friday it has hired former chief executive officer of BP PLC's Canadian business Anne Drinkwater as a non-executive director, effective from the start of December.

Drinkwater was president and CEO of BP's operations in Canada from 2009 to 2012. Prior to that, she was also president of BP Indonesia and managing director of BP Norway.

She also sits on the board of London listed Tullow Oil PLC and is a member of its environment, health & safety committee as well as Tullow's remuneration and nomination committees.

Chairman Philip Aiken said: "I am delighted that Anne has agreed to join the Balfour Beatty board. She has significant experience in heavy industry including multiple large capital expenditure projects with infrastructure considerations. Anne's strategic mindset and knowledge of doing business in the UK and US mean that she will make a strong addition to the board of Balfour Beatty."

Shares in Balfour Beatty were down 0.6% at 287.40 pence each Friday.
