LONDON (Alliance News) - Balfour Beatty PLC Monday said it had been awarded a GBP64 million contract to convert a 12.5 mile section of the Great Western Main Line to electric under a Crossrail contract awarded by Network rail, the latest contract it has won on Crossrail.
Crossrail is the new East-West line being built under London. It is one of the biggest engineering projects currently being undertaken in Europe.
The Balfour contract covers the installation of new overhead line electrification equipment on all lines between Stockley Junction near Heathrow Airport and Maidenhead on the Crossrail West Outer section.
