Bakkavor's US Head To Take Up Chief Financial Officer Role

14th Oct 2020 10:43

(Alliance News) - Salad and sandwich maker Bakkavor Group PLC on Wednesday said Chief Financial Officer Peter Gates intends to retire at the end of the year.

Gates will step down from his role as CFO and the board with effect from December 26.

Replacing him is the current president of Bakkavor USA, Ben Waldron. Waldron joined Bakkavor as financial controller in 2011 and then became head of strategic development, supporting the group's IPO in 2017, and then at the start of 2019 took on responsibility for the US business.

Waldron will be replaced as president of Bakkavor USA by Pete Laport.

Bakkavor added that it has made Mike Edwards, UK chief operating officer, an executive director effective December 27. The company is also progressing with a search for an additional independent non-executive director.

Shares in Bakkavor were up 1.7% at 64.09 in London on Wednesday.
