Bahamas Petroleum Non-Executive Shallcross Dies After Illness

16th Oct 2019 12:03

(Alliance News) - Bahamas Petroleum Co PLC on Wednesday announced the death of Non-Executive Director Eddie Shallcross after a short illness.

Shallcross, Bahamas Petroleum said, spent over 40 years in the financial sector, mainly at Barclays PLC, from which he retired in 1998.

"It is with the greatest sadness that we learned of the death of Eddie, who contributed so significantly to making Bahamas Petroleum what it is and will be. Eddie had been on the board for the duration of my tenure as chair, having been a member since 2011," said Bahamas Petroleum Chair Bill Schrader.

"As such Eddie has seen the company grow and mature and been the custodian of the many processes a company such as ours requires in this day and age. As chair of the audit committee we all valued his attention to detail, his thoroughness and professionalism. His guidance, intelligence and humour will be sorely missed by all in the company."

Bahamas Petroleum shares were 5.9% higher on Wednesday in London at 1.98 pence each.
