LONDON (Alliance News) - BAE Systems PLC said Thursday it has appointed former Boeing executive Nicole Piasecki as a non-executive at the FTSE 100-listed defence engineer from the start of June.
Piasecki served as vice president & general manager of the Propulsion Systems Division of Boeing until 2017, having been at the US aircraft maker for 25 years.
As well as other senior roles at Boeing, she previously served on the advisory board of the US Federal Aviation Authority and the Future of Aviation Advisory Committee of the US Department of Transport.
She is currently a director of US forestry products firm Weyerhaeuser Co.
BAE Chair Roger Carr said he was "delighted" Piasecki was joining the firm.
"She has extensive executive experience in the aerospace industry, having led multi-functional teams and also developed a strong track record in strategic planning and international operations and relations," Carr added.
"I look forward to her joining us later in the year and further strengthening the mix of knowledge, experience and skills we currently enjoy around our board table. I am confident her contribution will be invaluable."
Shares in BAE were 0.4% higher at 516.20 pence on Thursday.
