BAE Systems hails Typhoon aircraft contract award from Turkiye

27th Oct 2025 20:35

(Alliance News) - BAE Systems PLC on Monday welcomed the announcement from the UK government of a GBP5.4 billion agreement with the Republic of Turkiye for the purchase of 20 Typhoon aircraft and an associated weapons and integration package.

Under the agreement, BAE Systems anticipates that it will recognise around GBP4.6 billion including through its shareholding in MBDA.

The London-based aerospace, arms and information security company will manufacture major airframe components, conduct the final assembly of the aircraft and lead weapons integration activities in Lancashire.

The weapons package will be primarily provided by MBDA, in which BAE Systems has a 37.5% shareholding.

Chief Executive, Charles Woodburn, said: "Türkiye's procurement of Typhoon marks the start of a new chapter in our longstanding relationship with this important NATO ally and reinforces the outstanding operational support the aircraft delivers across Europe and the Middle East as a fundamental pillar of defence and security."

Shares in BAE Systems closed down 0.2% at 1,858.00 pence each in London on Monday.
