LONDON (Alliance News) - BAE Systems PLC on Tuesday said its Australian arm has won a contract to provide support services for the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter programme in the country from early 2018.
Under the contract, BAE's Australian business will provide heavy airframe maintenance and sustainment capability for the global Joint Strike Fighter fleet based in the southern pacific region. It will carry out the work from its Williamtown site in New South Wales.
BAE did not provide any financial details on the deal.
"We are delighted to have been assigned this substantial scope of work," said BAE Systems Australia chief executive David Allott.
BAE shares were up 1.2% to 520.45 pence on Tuesday.
