(Alliance News) - B&M European Value Retail SA on Thursday appointed Alex Russo as its new chief financial officer as well as an executive director, effective October 5.
The discount retail chain's current CFO Paul McDonald will leave on November 6 after a handover period.
McDonald will remain employed by the company, receiving salary and benefits, under garden leave and remain able to assist the group as required for the remainder of his notice period to January 8, 2021.
Company Chair Peter Bamford said: "I am delighted that Alex Russo will be joining the board of B&M later this year. His previous roles with leading retail businesses in the UK and internationally brings a valuable level of experience to the board as our business continues to grow at a significant rate.
"Paul McDonald has done an excellent job as CFO for the last nine years and we thank him for his contribution and wish him well for the future."
B&M European shares were down 1.5% at 429.60 pence on Thursday afternoon in London.
