(Alliance News) - Avon Rubber PLC said Wednesday it has appointed Bruce Thompson as non-executive chair designate with effect on March 1.
Thompson will succeed David Evans as chair when he steps down at a date no later than the respiratory and milking equipment firm's next annual general meeting in January 2021.
Evans has been in his role at Avon Rubber for eight years since 2012.
Thompson's most recent executive role was as chief executive officer at technical products and services provider Diploma PLC for 21 years from 1996 to 2018. He is non-executive director at customised electronics firm discoverIE Group PLC for two years since 2018.
"We are very pleased with the outcome of our search for a new chair. Bruce's appointment to the board as chair designate reflects his calibre and suitability for the role of leading the Avon Rubber board. The planned recruitment of another non-executive director is progressing well and an announcement on this will follow separately in due course<" said Senior Independent Non-Executive Director Pim Vervaat.
Shares in Avon Rubber - which is based in Wiltshire, UK - were up 0.3% at 2,736.70 pence on Wednesday in London.
