(Alliance News) - Aviva PLC on Tuesday said it has appointed Amanda Blanc to board as an independent non-executive director, effective January 2.
The FTSE 100-listed insurer also announced the retirement of Glyn Barker and Claudia Arney as non-executive directors, effective from the end of 2019.
Blanc previously served as chief executive of UK & Ireland at AXA SA and was also the boss of EMEA & Global Banking Partnerships division at Zurich Insurance Group AG.
Aviva Chair Adrian Montague said: "Amanda's breadth and depth of experience of the UK and European insurance industry, and her detailed understanding of business and customers, make her an excellent addition to our board."
Shares in Aviva were up 0.8% at 398.70 pence each in London on Tuesday morning.
