Avingtrans Wins GBP2 Million Contract For Dubai Solar Project

13th Jan 2020 11:24

(Alliance News) - Engineering firm Avingtrans PLC said Monday its subsidiary Hayward Tyler has been awarded a GBP2 million contact to supply a glandless pump package to Shanghai Electric Group Corp, to be installed at Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park Phase IV in Dubai.

The park is a 950 megawatts concentrating solar power and photovoltaic hybrid independent power project, and will make use of three different technologies to generate energy. This includes a parabolic basin complex for 600 megawatts, 100 megawatts from a solar tower and 250 MW from photovoltaic panels.

The pump package will form a critical part of the solar tower steam generator system and consist six forced-circulating pumps and four start-circulating pumps.

"This contract represents a major opportunity for Hayward Tyler, and the largest ever for our China facility. We are pleased that Shanghai Electric Group Corp has recognized that Hayward Tyler Glandless Pumps will provide the best solutions for these critical services when safety and reliability are of utmost importance," said Alvin Sim, managing director for Hayward Tyler Asia Pacific.

Shares in Avingtrans - which is based in Chatteris - were up 0.8% at 325.00 pence on Monday in London.
