LONDON (Alliance News) - Medical and energy components manufacturer Avingtrans PLC said Tuesday its subsidiary, Maloney Metalcraft, has won a contract with France's EDF Energy.
Maloney Metalcraft is part of Avingtrans' energy and medical division. The EDF contract is worth GBP3.5 million, and under the agreement Maloney Metalcraft will supply gas-cooling valves for EDF's seven UK nuclear power stations, as well as providing engineering support and on-site services.
"The board is delighted that Maloney Metalcraft has secured another important contract in the nuclear sector. It underlines the board's decision to invest in the energy and medical business and, specifically, to strengthen Maloney Metalcraft's position in this market," said Steve McQuillian, Avingtrans chief executive.
Shares in Avingtrans were down 1.3% Tuesday at 185.00 pence.
