Avingtrans Says Sigma Signs Five-Year Deal With Sonaca

19th Jun 2015 07:32

LONDON (Alliance News) - Avingtrans PLC Friday said that Sigma Components, part of its aerospace division, has signed a five-year contract worth GBP5 million to supply fabricated assemblies to Belgian aerospace company Sonaca.

The AIM-listed maker of components and modules for the aerospace, energy and medical sectors said the deal is for programmes relating to aerospace companies Airbus, Bombardier and Embraer. Airbus is French, Bombardier is Canadian and Embraer is Brazilian.

The contract will see Sigma become the sole supplier to Sonaca for critical assemblies in the anti-icing systems of several programmes, Avingtrans said.

"This contract is great news for the Farnborough business that we acquired in 2012 and reflects well on the team that have earned the trust of Sonaca to award us this contract," Sigma Managing Director Mark Johnson said in a statement.

Shares in Avingtrans were trading down 0.5% at 110.00p at the open on Friday.
