LONDON (Alliance News) - AVI Japan Opportunity Trust PLC on Wednesday said it is considering issuing shares in order to raise additional funds for further investments.
Any fundraise will be subject to market conditions, the company, which said will update the market in due course, added.
As at February, 98% of the trust's initial public offering proceeds have been deployed. AVI Japan floated on the London Stock Exchange in October 2018.
"Since the company's launch, there have been a number of positive corporate governance developments in Japan. The investment manager's conviction that there is a significant amount of unlocked value in quality, over-capitalised Japanese companies has only strengthened and it continues to identify a pipeline of attractive opportunities in line with the company's investment strategy," AVI said.
AVI Japan shares were trading 0.6% higher at 104.10 pence each on Wednesday.
