LONDON (Alliance News) - Avation PLC Monday said it has delivered into operation a second new ATR 72-600 aircraft to UK commercial airline Flybe Group PLC.
The commercial passenger aircraft leasing company said this is the second of a series of five new ATR 72-600 aircraft to be delivered to Flybe during the course of 2015 and early 2016.
The aircraft will be operated by Flybe for Scandinavian Airlines under an operational contract arrangement. The initial duration of the lease is six years with options to extend.
"We are pleased to be able to deliver promptly this second ATR 72-600 aircraft to Flybe and SAS. We believe the ATR 72-600 to be an ideal aircraft type for the shorter regional routes of Europe, due to the fact that it has the lowest fuel burn and overall operating cost economics in its class," Chairman Jeff Chatfield said in a statement.
Shares in Avation were trading up 0.8% at 145.65 pence Monday morning.
