Avast Plans GBP138 Million Cut To Share Premium Account

19th Sep 2018 18:28

LONDON (Alliance News) - Cybersecurity software company Avast PLC on Wednesday said it intents to radically reduce the credit of its share premium account and cancel its subscriber share.

Avast will reduce its share premium account to GBP609,159 from GBP138.6 million in order to support future dividends and buybacks.

Moreover, the company also intends to remove its unlisted and non-voting subscriber share, describing it as "no longer expedient or necessary".

Shareholder approval for these special resolutions will be sought at the company's general meeting on October 10.

Shares in Avast closed flat at 284.00 pence on Wednesday.
