LONDON (Alliance News) - Satellite communication services provider Avanti Communications Group PLC Tuesday said it has won a multi-year contract with South African state-owned telecommunications operator SENTECH.
No financial details of the contract were disclosed. Under the deal Avanti will provide satellite coverage using its HYLAS Ka-band satellite, which has full coverage of South Africa.
"The award of such an important contract for the delivery of vital connectivity to public sector users in South Africa is a strong indication of Avanti's competitive advantages. Through this valuable partnership with SENTECH, we look forward to making a strong contribution to the efficiency of public services across South Africa," said Chief Executive Officer David Williams in a statement.
Shares in Avanti are untraded Tuesday morning. It last closed at 213.50 pence.
