LONDON (Alliance News) - Avanti Communications Group PLC Monday said it has won a new contract with Tanzania's incumbent national telecoms operator TTCL to expand its high-speed broadband network.
Under the deal, TTCL will supply a new satellite broadband offering to its consumer, enterprise and government customer base imminently, Avanti said. The expansion will be deployed using Avanti's HYLAS 2 satellite, which the company says gives full coverage across the country and means TTCL can expand its broadband services beyond the bounds of the fibre infrastructure,
Avanti didn't say how much the contract is worth.
Its shares were down 1.7% at 220.30 pence Monday morning.
