LONDON (Alliance News) - Biotechnology firm Avacta Group PLC said Monday it appointed ex-Immunocore Ltd boss Eliot Forster as its non-executive chairman.
Forster served as Immunocore CEO until February, having joined in 2015. During this time, Forster made Immunocore a "world-leading immuno-oncology biotech" company, raising over GBP230 million in funding and "securing partnerships" with AstraZeneca PLC and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Prior to Immunocore, Forster had served as CEO of Creabilis and held a number of senior roles at Pfizer Inc.
"I am very much looking forward to serving Avacta Group alongside the board of directors," Forster said. "I am confident that Avacta's Affimer technology will be both disruptive and transformational in the biotech field. It is a privilege to begin working with Alastair and the team as the company enters an exciting new phase in its growth, advancing therapeutics to the clinic and further building the reagents business."
Forst will replace current Chairman Trevor Nichols. Nichols - in post since 2014 - will remain at Avacta as a non-executive director.
Shares in Avacta were trading flat at 34.00 pence on Monday.
