(Alliance News) - Auto Trader Group PLC on Wednesday said it will return to charging customers who use its platform as it noted UK government guidance permitting vehicle retailers to reopen from June 1.
The car buying and selling platform provider said that it will advise customers of the support it will provide, which includes giving a 25% discount off advertising charges through to the end of June. It added that it will confirm any changes to its existing arrangements with its customers in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland as at when the relevant government announcements are made.
In April, Auto Trader said its advertising packages would be free for customers during the government-enforced lockdown period.
On Wednesday, commenting on the relaxation of government restrictions, Chief Executive Nathan Coe said: "This recent government announcement is an important step forward for the automotive industry, and we will continue to support our customers as they resume trading. It is encouraging that both our marketplace data and our consumer research suggest healthy levels of demand."
The FTSE 100 stock was trading 2.5% higher at 548.40 pence each on Wednesday morning in London.
