LONDON (Alliance News) - Waste-to-product business Renewi PLC on Tuesday said authorities had visited its ATM contaminated soil and water Moerdijk facility site in the Netherlands as part of an investigation.
The Dutch public prosecutor is investigating the historic use of ATM's thermally treated soil. Full production has not yet resumed at the site, which has been on reduced output since August 2017.
"The company believes it has treated all contaminated soil in line with the soil decree regulations and is compliant with its environmental permits," Renewi said.
The company went on to say that it will continue working closely with regulatory authorities on interim solutions, as well as on new products that might allow ATM's resumption of soil shipments
Back in November, Renewi said it expected to take a EUR3 million operating profit hit per month while production is halted at ATM.
Shares in Renewi were down 4.7% at 32.45 pence on Tuesday.
