Aurrigo wins record GBP6 million contract with Ultra Global

9th Mar 2026 12:06

(Alliance News) - Aurrigo International PLC on Monday said it has signed a GBP6.3 million contract for its largest-ever autonomous vehicle order from Ultra Global Ltd, a personal rapid transit systems developer.

The Coventry, England-based transport technology provider said it has agreed to design and manufacture an initial fleet of 25 autonomous guided vehicles for use in UK airport and passenger transit settings.

Aurrigo said it will leverage its sector expertise, along with Ultra Global's existing IP, to improve performance, safety and technology standards. This includes upgrading power systems, electronics, software, sensing, and mechanical components.

The contract, which Aurrigo said represents its largest autonomous vehicle order to date, is expected upon completion to deliver around GBP1.5 million in revenue for 2026, and GBP4.8 million in the following year.

Aurrigo expects most of the engineering development to be complete by the fourth quarter, with the vehicle production scheduled for 2027.

"This agreement demonstrates progress against the growth strategy outlined following our recent capital raise [of GBP14.1 million, in August] and subsequent Hub strategy launch, focused on strategic partnerships, revenue-generating programmes and scaling manufacturing capability," commented Chief Executive David Keene. "This approach has delivered this landmark contract with Ultra Global...Our focus now is on delivering a modernised platform for Ultra Global that reflects the highest standards of performance and innovation."

Ultra Global Director Jonathan Keeling, meanwhile commented: "In evaluating partners globally, Aurrigo distinguished itself through its ability to deliver the complete vehicle solution, from core platform development through to advanced technology implementation...The first batch of vehicles will be utilised for customer demonstrations, supporting commercial engagement activity in the UK and international markets as the companies explore new deployment opportunities."

He added: "This is the beginning of something significant. We anticipate further business and additional orders as we expand globally and unlock new opportunities for deployment."

Shares in Aurrigo were up 2.9% at 90.00 pence at around noon on Monday in London.
