(Alliance News) - Aurrigo International PLC on Wednesday said it has entered a three-year partnership with airport ground services and air cargo handling services provider Swissport International AG for the deployment of autonomous solutions at Zurich Airport.
The Coventry, England-based transport technology provider said the deal includes a six-month project agreement, to be signed in the coming days, for an Auto-Sim contact for the modelling of Zurich Airport and the trial of an Auto-Dolly Tug.
The Auto-Sim modelling is expected to begin "shortly", and the delivery of the Auto-Dolly Tug is expected in the second half of 2025.
Aurrigo said the deal will contribute towards its expectations for the current financial year.
With Zurich intended as an initial launch site, Swissport will evaluate further sites on which Aurrigo's technology can be implemented. Swissport's operational network totals more than 270 airports.
"The roll out of autonomous technology to boost efficiency across baggage and cargo handling, while improving safety and reducing carbon emissions is an executive level priority for aviation industry players, globally," said Aurrigo Chief Executive Officer David Keene.
"Supported by market tailwinds, industry leaders and our first mover status, the opportunity for Aurrigo continues to gather pace. With market leading products and an increasing volume of proof points to show potential customers we look ahead with confidence."
Shares in Aurrigo International closed up 10% at 68.50 pence each in London on Wednesday. The stock remains down 34% over the past year.
