LONDON (Alliance News) - Aureus Mining Inc Wednesday said construction of the New Liberty gold project in Liberia remains on track to deliver first gold production in the first quarter of 2015.
The gold-mining company, which has operations in Liberia and Cameroon and is building Liberia's first commercial gold mine, said that the tailings storage facility at the project is nearing completion.
It also said that the engineering, procurement and construction management contract, which is the contract to construct the New Liberty plant, is 60% complete, while the first steel erection is progressing on schedule.
"With the arrival of the ball mill, reaching 60% completion on the EPCM contract and many of the other key construction milestones having been achieved prior to the commencement of the rainy season, we are pleased with the progress so far in developing Liberia's first commercial gold mine," said President and Chief Executive David Reading in a statement.
Aureus Mining shares were trading 0.5% higher at 25.88 pence per share Wednesday morning.
