LONDON (Alliance News) - Aureus Mining Inc saw its shares rise early Wednesday after it said further metallurgical testing at its Ndablama Gold project at the Bea Mountain Mining licence in Liberia confirmed strong potential gold recoveries for the site.
The company said the testing on the sulphide composites showed an overall gravity plus carbon in leach gold recovery of between 91% and 96% from head grades of 1.4 to 2.7 grams per tonne of gold.
The oxide ore showed overall gravity plus carbon in leach gold recovery of 96-97% from a head grade of 0.8 grams per tonne of gold.
The sulphide ore total gravity gold recovery rate on the various composites at the prospect was an average of 66-72%, while flotation testwork showed gold recoveries of more than 90% for the flotation concentrate.
"The detailed metallurgical test work from Ndablama highlights excellent results delivering significant high recovery rates from both gravity and CIL treatment. With these results we are now looking at both standalone and concentrate transport options for the treatment of Ndablama ore," said Aureus Chief Executive David Reading.
Aureus shares were up 6.7% to 24.00 pence on Wednesday morning, one of the best performers in the AIM All-Share index.
