LONDON (Alliance News) - Aukett Swanke Group PLC on Wednesday said work has now begun on the Mercades Platz construction project in Berlin, after Hochtief Aktiengesellschaft was appointed as a general contractor.
The architecture and interior design firm said its associate company, Aukett+Heese GmbH, was appointed to work on the design and building permit for the project last year, and will now work with Hochtief, part of Madrid-based Grupo ACS, to provide the detailed design and working drawings.
The USD230.0 million project, located in front of the 17,000-capacity Mercedes-Benz arena in East Berlin, aims to become "the vibrant heart of this dynamically growing urban quarter", Aukett Swanke said.
Shares in Aukett Swanke were untraded on Wednesday, having last traded at 6.21 pence.
