LONDON (Alliance News) - Atlantis Resources Ltd Tuesday said Chief Financial Officer Duncan Black has resigned and been replaced by Simon Counsell with immediate effect.
Black has resigned after deciding not to relocate to Scotland, where Atlantis plans to move its corporate headquarters, but he will remain on the board as a non-executive director.
Atlantis is relocating its corporate head office to Scotland from Singapore as its MeyGen project in Scotland moves into the construction phase and because it has recently acquired a portfolio of six projects spread across Wales, Northern Ireland and Southern England.
Atlantis has appointed Counsell as the new chief financial officer. Before accepting his new role, Counsell was the UK and Netherlands Finance Director at US-based power generation firm InterGen (UK) Ltd.
"He has played a key part in shaping the direction of InterGen and I look forward to him bringing his skill and experience to Atlantis at this exciting moment in the company's development," said Atlantis Chairman John Neill.
"I am very excited to be joining Atlantis. I have long been impressed with the business and its leading position at the helm of a burgeoning global tidal power sector and look forward to building on the very strong foundations which have been established," said Counsell.
"It is not without regret that I have made the decision to remain in Singapore and step down as CFO of Atlantis. I look forward to my new role as a non-executive director and will work to ensure that there is a seamless handover to my replacement," said Black.
Atlantis shares were down 2.4% to 41.50 pence per share on Tuesday morning,
