LONDON (Alliance News) - Atalaya Mining PLC on Wednesday said the temporary tailings disposal suspension placed on the company in April has now been lifted.
In April, work on the tailings facility at the Riotinto copper project in Spain was temporarily suspended after the Junta de Andalucia, the regional government, requested "some additional information" from the company.
Atalaya said this suspension has now been lifted and said commissioning of the expansion project for the Riotinto project started this week.
Atalaya said it believes the earlier start-up of the new, expanded plant on the site will offset any lost production from the temporary suspension.
Shares in Atalaya were up 1.9% to 105.00 pence.
