Atalaya Mining names Neil Gregson as new chair, replacing Roger Davey

30th May 2024 11:17

(Alliance News) - Atalaya Mining PLC on Thursday outlined several executive changes, including the appointment of Senior Independent Director Neil Gregson as its new chair.

According to the firm, which produces copper from the Proyecto Riotinto complex in southwest Spain, Gregson will succeed Roger Davey with effect from July 1.

This follows the company's annual general meeting on June 27.

"Recent highlights, such as the move to the London Stock Exchange's Main Market, show how the company is well positioned for scale and continued growth, and as such I see this as the ideal time to step down as chair," said outgoing chair Roger Davey.

"I am delighted the board has chosen Neil Gregson to replace me. Neil has significant industry experience and has already demonstrated his strong leadership qualities through serving as the senior independent director. I am confident he is the right person to guide Atalaya through its next stage of growth."

Kate Harcourt will be appointed as senior independent director of the Atalaya, upon Gregson moving to chair.

As well, Carole Whittall has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of the company, effective June 3. She is the chief financial officer of Yellow Cake PLC.

Shares in Atalaya Mining were down 0.4% at 423.50 pence each in London on Thursday morning.
