Assura Non-Executive Chairman Simon Laffin To Depart In Summer

22nd Mar 2018 09:15

LONDON (Alliance News) - Primary care property developer and investor Assura PLC said Thursday its Non-Executive Chairman Simon Laffin is to leave the company in July.

Laffin has been in the role since 2011, and will leave at the end of its annual general meeting on July 10.

Ed Smith, who joined Assura as a non-executive director in October last year, will step up to the role of non-executive chairman at the annual general meeting.

Senior Independent Director David Richardson said: "Simon's vision and determination for the company has guided it through a turnaround from a business suffering severe financial difficulties in 2011 to the well-financed and focused company we have today.

"He leaves a strong management team and board in place. He retires with our thanks and best wishes for the future. I'm delighted that Ed has agreed to take on the role of chairman."

Shares in Assura were trading at 58.20 pence each on Thursday morning, down 0.5%.
