LONDON (Alliance News) - Industrial equipment rental company Ashtead Group PLC on Wednesday said it appointed Lindsley Ruth as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
The FTSE 100-listed company said Ruth will become a member of the audit, remuneration and nomination committees.
Ruth has been chief executive of FTSE 250-listed Electrocomponents PLC since April 2015. Prior to that, he was executive vice president of the electro-mechanical components firm Future Electronics Group and has also held senior positions with electronic components supplier TTI Inc and electronics manufacturing company Solectron Corp.
Simultaneously, Ashtead confirmed that Brendan Horgan has today succeeded Geoff Drabble as chief executive. Drabble has stepped down from the board and will retire from the company on November 30.
"On behalf of the group I would again like to extend my thanks to Geoff for his tremendous service over the past 12 years," said Chair Paul Walker.
"I am very pleased to welcome Lindsley to the board of Ashtead. He brings with him relevant knowledge of the end markets that we operate in and his experience will further add to the strength, depth and effectiveness of the Ashtead board," added Walker.
The stock was trading 1.2% higher on Wednesday at 2,148.16 pence a share.
