LONDON (Alliance News) - Artemis VCT PLC said Wednesday it saw a total return on net asset value per share of 12.7% in its year to end-September.
The company proposed a final dividend of 2.00 pence, and a special dividend of 10.00 pence. This takes its total dividends paid for the year to 19.00 pence.
Artemis VCT said that after a quiet first six months its performance picked up in the second half of the year, and its performance compared favourably to its peer group, which saw an average return of 4.0%.
"The portfolio is maturing nicely and does not rely on new investments to generate performance. Despite strong returns in recent years, we still feel most of the companies are well positioned to deliver from here. Provided they do as we expect, then the question is whether we reinvest or the board chooses to return the proceeds to shareholders through tax-free dividends. That is a good question to be facing," Artemis said in a statement.
Shares in Artemis VCT were down 2.1% at 66.55 pence Wednesday afternoon.
