Artemis Alpha Trust Outperforms FTSE All-Share In Half Year

16th Dec 2015 16:31

LONDON (Alliance News) - Artemis Alpha Trust PLC late Wednesday said it outperformed the FTSE All-Share Index in its financial first half to end-October, as it benefited from a strong bias toward the improving UK economy.

The trust said that during the half year its net asset value fell by 3.6%, whilst the FTSE All-Share fell 5.7%.

Artemis Alpha Trust proposed an interim dividend of 1.40 pence, up from 1.25p a year before.

"The volatility that characterised markets during the reporting period has continued since the end of October. Given the uncertainty over the global economy and wider geo-political concerns, this volatility looks set to continue. In this environment, stock-picking is even more important and should allow the fund managers to generate value for shareholders," the company said in a statement.

Shares in Artemis Alpha were down 0.5% at 243.00p Wednesday afternoon.
