Artemis Alpha Trust Beats Benchmark In First Half As Net Assets Rise

19th Dec 2019 12:23

(Alliance News) - Artemis Alpha Trust PLC on Thursday lifted its payout by 5% amid an improved performance of its net asset value.

In the six months to the end of October, the trust's net asset value per share and share price rose by 2.9% and 3.4%, respectively, on a total return basis. In comparison, the FTSE All-Share Index rose by 0.4% over the same period.

The investment company reported net asset value of 360.86 pence as at October 31 compared to 354.13p a year earlier.

The stock was trading 0.3% lower in London on Thursday at 342.12p a share.

Artemis declared a first interim dividend of 2.10p per share, up from 2.00p it paid a year earlier.

"The flexibility of the portfolio continues to improve with increased underlying liquidity and optionality to employ gearing. This means we are well prepared to adapt to changing market conditions," said Fund Managers John Dodd and Kartik Kumar.
