LONDON (Alliance News) - ARM Holdings PLC on Monday said it has acquired Dutch security software company Offspark for an undisclosed amount.
Offspark focuses on internet-of-things communication security, and its PolarSSL technology is already being used in a number of devices, including sensor modules, communication modules and smartphones, ARM said.
"We have always said that security must be the foundation of any IoT system and the acquisition of Offspark is evidence of us making that happen," said ARM's Krisztian Flautner, the general manager of the FTSE 100-listed company's internet of things business.
Shares in ARM were down 1.0% to 1,068.00 pence at the open Monday morning.
