Ariana Says Test Work Shows High Gold Recovery At Turkish Mine

13th Jun 2018 13:52

LONDON (Alliance News) - Ariana Resources PLC said Wednesday test work at Kizilcukur gold mine in Turkey "highlighted its potential".

Metallurgical testwork derived from a bulk sample of about 7.4 tonnes at the mine shows "high gold recoveries" of about 83% to 92%.

Precious metal content of the samples ranged up to 7.7 grammes per tonne gold and 160 grammes per tonne silver. With coincident base metals averaging 3.8 grammes per tonne gold and 136 grammes per tonne silver.

The vein system at Kizilcukur demonstrates, according to Ariana, the potential to extend across an area of 2.3 kilometres by 0.3 kilometres.

The Kizilcukur mine is 22 kilometres to the northeast of Ariana's Kiziltepe gold production mine.

Managing Director Kerim Sener said: "We are delighted that the latest work at Kizilcukur continues to highlight the potential for the project to become a satellite source of ore for the Kiziltepe Mine. Recent metallurgical tests demonstrate that the Kizilcukur ore responds well to the leach conditions utilised within the Kiziltepe processing plant, with very high gold recovery. Further work will be conducted on the ore to determine the variability of recovery over a greater range of grade and other characteristics."

"The company is planning further work across this licence area during 2018 and is looking forward to updating the market in due course."

Shares in Ariana Resources were down 0.9% at 1.46 pence each Wednesday.
