(Alliance News) - Digital asset-focused firm B HODL PLC on Tuesday announced plans to float on London's Aquis Stock Exchange later this month.
The Douglas, Isle of Man-based company describes itself as "founded exclusively for bitcoin accumulation and revenue generation".
It will launch an initial public offering on the Access segment of the AQSE Growth Market, with admission targeted for September 22.
B HODL said it has conditionally raised around GBP13.3 million via subscriptions for 95.3 million shares priced at 14 pence. The firm aims to raise a further GBP500,000 through a separate retail offer at the same price for 3.8 million shares.
On admission, B HODL said its board will include four executive directors, one non-executive director and non-executive Chair David Jaques, former chief financial officer of PayPal Inc, and alumnus of Silicon Valley Bank and Barclays PLC.
B HODL's Chief Executive Officer Frederick Edmund is a solicitor and co-founder of Bitcoin Policy UK. Chief Finance Officer David Patrick Martin Boylan is currently CFO of crypto industry peer CoinCorner Ltd, whose CEO Daniel Lawrence Scott is B HODL's Chief Bitcoin Officer.
Boylan commented on Tuesday: "Bitcoin's market capitalisation now sits at around USD2 trillion...Through B HODL, investors can gain price exposure to bitcoin and to the growing payment revolution that we believe it represents, participating indirectly in the continuing growth, strength and stability of the industry."
According to Scott, the IPO candidate aims to become "the leading UK listed bitcoin company".
B HODL noted subscriptions from investors such as Adam Back, CEO of Canadian blockchain technology firm Blockstream Corporation Inc CEO.
The term "hodl" originated in the cryptocurrency sector as a misspelling of "hold", and now refers to the acronym "hold on for dear life" as a type of investment strategy.
B HODL's planned debut comes amid a trend of bitcoin treasury allocations at London-listed firms such as Smarter Web Co PLC and Hamak Gold Ltd.
