LONDON (Alliance News) - APR Energy PLC Wednesday said it has commissioned a 20 megawatt expansion of its natural gas power plant in Myanmar.
The fast-track power provider said the plant will provide the state's Myanmar Electric Power Enterprise with a guaranteed minimum of 102 megawatts of power generation following the expansion.
"Expanding contracts is an important part of APR Energy's strategy and business model, together with new contracts and renewals. The added capacity at our Myanmar plant follows our previously announced expansion in Indonesia earlier this year, and is the result of growing regional demand and the high level of service we provide," said Clive Turton, managing director in Asia Pacific.
The company has announced numerous contract extensions and project expansions in recent months. Last Thursday, the company said it would be extending three projects in Argentina to add a further 75 megawatts of power generation and in February, APR Energy said it had signed a contract renewal for its Iraq power generation deal, taking the term of the contract through to the end of 2015.
APR Energy also signed 106 megawatts of contract extensions in Sub-Saharan Africa in February, including an extension on its 40 megawatt Morro Bento power contract in Angola, taking its term into early 2016.
APR Energy shares were up 3.0% to 350.00 pence per share on Wednesday morning.
