LONDON (Alliance News) - APR Energy PLC Friday said it has extended its existing 70 megawatt diesel power module contract in Botswana for another 12 months.
The temporary power plant company said the 70 megawatt facility in Francistown has supported the Botswana Power Corporation, the national electric utility, through the provision of diesel power modules since late 2009 to help deal with supply constraints in the southern Africa region.
The company announced in December that it has achieved multiple other contract extensions including a 12-month renewal of its 40 megawatt diesel power module contract in Angola and an extension, on improved pricing, of its 25 megawatt mobile gas turbine contract in the US Virgin Islands.
"Today's announcement reflects our leading industry position in the region with 800 megawatts of installed power capacity on the continent," APR Chief Executive Officer John Campion said in a statement.
APR Energy shares were trading early Friday up 9.50 pence, or 1.0%, at 959.50p.
