12th Jan 2016 07:36

LONDON (Alliance News) - Online electrical appliances retailer AO World PLC on Tuesday said trading remains in line with its expectations for its full financial year after a solid performance in the third quarter to the end of December.

AO World said its UK business continued to show growth across all categories, with revenue from its AO.com website up 35% and total UK revenue rising 24% in the third quarter year-on-year.

AO said it was pleased with its performance over the Black Friday event and with the increased awareness of its brand. The group also said it made further progress in its German business.

Overall, it said, trading remains in line with its expectations.

"AO World continues to make progress on its long-term plan: delivering sales growth across all categories and more customers enjoyed our excellent proposition," said Steve Caunce, AO World's chief operating officer.

"Looking ahead, we remain confident that we will deliver for the benefit of both our customers and our investors and remain on track to deliver our long-term strategy," he added.
