LONDON (Alliance News) - Miner Anglo American PLC on Tuesday said its De Beers diamond unit saw a decline in its ninth sales cycle compared to the eighth.
De Beers reported USD470.0 million in rough diamond sales for the ninth cycle, compared to USD494.0 million in cycle eight.
"Encouragingly, the ninth sales cycle of 2016 showed continued good demand for De Beers rough diamonds, with sales in line with expected seasonal demand patterns," said Bruce Cleaver, Anglo American's chief executive.
Anglo shares were down 3.7% to 1,132.00 pence early Tuesday.
