LONDON (Alliance News) - Anglo American PLC Thursday said it has appointed Tony O'Neill as an executive director with immediate effect.
The FTSE 100-listed multi-commodity miner said O'Neill joined the company as the company's technical director in September 2013.
"Tony O'Neill's technical experience from across the mining industry continues to be fundamental to the operational turnaround of Anglo American achieved over the last 18 months. His appointment to the Board signals our commitment to engineering excellence and our continuing drive to achieve best practice operational, safety and environmental performance," said Chairman John Parker.
O'Neill is currently a director of Anglo American Platinum Ltd, in which Anglo American holds around a 77% stake, and was also a director at Kumba Iron Ore Ltd between February and July 2013.
Anglo American shares were up 0.8% to 820.00 pence per share on Thursday morning.
