ANGLE Inks Deal With University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf

8th Sep 2014 08:59

LONDON (Alliance News) - ANGLE PLC said Monday it has inked a collaboration agreement with the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, part of the University Cancer Center Hamburg, relating to ANGLE's Parsortix system for capturing cells in blood for medical analysis.

The Hamburg medical centre's Department of Tumour Biology is focused on the identification and characterisation of tumour cells that have disseminated from the primary tumour, and may lead to overt metastases in cancer patients.

Under the collaboration, the centre will work with ANGLE on four main areas relating to Parsortix.

This includes: comparing the performance of Parsortix with existing in-market products for metastatic breast, bladder, colon and lung cancer patient samples; developing and optimising Parsortix and its associated products with various downstream analysis techniques for a liquid biopsy product; molecular analysis of individual capture circulating tumour cells; and specific assessment of Parsortix's suitability for HER2 positive breast cancer liquid biopsy analysis.

Prior to inking the agreement, the centre undertook a six month evaluation of Parsortix.

Shares in ANGLE are trading up 0.1% at 83.55 pence Monday morning.
